Gabong i Excel

(For English version, see further down).

mvh

This post has been a long time coming. It's about a year and a half since my last post. I just wonder why they haven't deleted it, but I don't mind.

I'm just back from Oslo, where Christian Sports Contact held its national conference. There I played gabong with a group from Grimstad, who I thaught the game years ago.

Explenation of terms used in following passages:

Folk highschool: One year of study, often completed after high school. The subjects differ distinctly from those thaught in regular school and include music, sports, out doors activities and a lot of other things. It is funded partially through the Norwegian government and partially through the students recieving scholarships from the Norwegian government. It also gives credits for application to university studies. However, it usually functions as a social year "off" were you can focus on your hobbies. Many of them are based on the Christian faith.

Stip: Basically a social worker at the school, who's been recruited from last year's students.

It pleases me to see that several good gabongs have developed within this group, among them Øystein and Sondre. Evedently the game is being played with a passion at Sagavoll folk highschool. It looks like there is a potential for a culture of playing the game being established at the school through the stips.

The same potential seems to be evident at Øytun folk highschool. My cousin, Kristoffer, went there last year and thaught the students the game. This year it has been passed on by the stips.

At Øytun they've also developed an Excel-sheet for gabong that automatically halves the score when the total amount equals a full hundred. Pure genious if you ask me. I'm trying to get a hold of it through my cousin.

If there are any news about gabong you are welcome to share them with me or add them as comments to this blog.

regards
